I love making easy and quick Christmas ornaments. This Christmas tree ornament is made using a small paper plate and some paint.
If you don’t have a paper plate you could cut out a triangle out of cardboard or cardstock to use instead.
This folded paper plate tree can be used as a table top decoration too. Just adjust the fold at the bottom of the tree until it stands upright easily.
You don’t need to pain these trees if you don’t what. You can using crayons, markers or colored pencils to decorate your trees.
Another option would be to glue on tissue paper or torn colored paper. Use what you have available and have fun.

How to Make a Christmas Tree Paper Plate
Step 1. Paint
Put a small amount of each paint that you are using on a paper plate. Then using you finger or a cotton swab, paint the tree green.
Next, using the tip of you finger add the colorful Christmas balls. Let dry.
It works best to add the ornaments in between the dots of green. If the green is really wet, you will want to let it dry for a few minutes.
Step 2. Fold
Fold the 1 side of the paper plate to the edge of the smaller circle on the inside of the plate. Then, fold the other 2 sides to form a point at the top and touch the bottom fold you already made.
This will give you a triangle shape for your tree.
Step 4. Star
Next, add the foam sticker to the top of the tree. If you do not have any foam star stickers, you can cut a paper one out and glue it on.
Step 4. Hanger
Finally, cut a piece of bakers twine to 6 in. and fold in half. Glue to the back of the paper plate tree. Let dry.
If you are using it a table top decoration, just make sure the bottom fold is flat against the table. Holding on to the 2 sides push it back towards the table and then let go. It should then stand on it’s own.
