Easy Winter Tree Craft Project: Free Printable Tree Template

Make an easy winter craft project with this free printable shape tree template. This is an fun and quick craft great for younger crafts like preschool and kindergarten.

This simple tree shape craft needs only a few supplies: template, paper, crayons, glue, scissors, and cotton balls. This evergreen tree craft project is great for winter but you could use it to make a Christmas tree too.

How to Make an Easy Winter Tree Craft Project

Supplies

safety scissors
white cardstock
glue
cotton balls
markers, crayons or colored pencils
shape winter tree printable template
white sequins optional
blue paper

Print the winter tree template on white printer paper or cardstock. Let dry for a few minutes.

Step 1. Color the Winter Tree

First, color the tree printable green for the triangles and brown for the rectangles for the tree trunks using your favorite media like crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

If you are using card stock, you can paint with watercolors or washable paints and let dry before moving on to the next step.

You can also use the printable tree template for cut outs or print the template on colored paper.

Step 2. Cut out Shapes

Next, cut out the triangles and the rectangles.

Step 3. Glue Winter Trees

Then, glue the triangles together starting the smallest and going to the largest. Next, add the tree trunk by gluing it behind the largest triangle at the bottom.

Step 4. Add the Snow

Finally, separate the cotton ball in to strips. Glue to the bottom sections of the triangles leaving green showing at the tops.

Step 5. Winter Tree Scene

If you want you can make the trees into a winter scene. Glue tree on a blue piece of paper.

Next, make dots using a white crayon or colored pencil for snow. You could also use white paint, little pieces of tissue paper, or white sequins for snow.

You could also add a snowman with this free printable build a snowman template.

Add snow to the bottom of the picture using glue and cotton balls. You could use white paint or white crayon or colored pencils instead.
