Create you own colorful paint butterfly craft with your toddler. All you need is some paint and paper. Easy enough a toddler can do finger paint a butterfly but can be fun for an older child too.

How to Rainbow Finger Paint Butterfly Craft
Painted Butterfly supplies
- white card stock or paper
- washable finger paint or acrylic paints
Fold white paper in half horizontally.
Pour a little of each color of the rainbow on the paper in different spots on one half of the paper.
Finger paint. Let them paint but no long enough to make mud.
Fold the paper together and press together. Then unfold. Let paint dry
Draw a butterfly shape using a pen and cut out.

You can have the child add a black body. You can also talk about symmetry and a line of symmetry. A line of symmetry is the imaginary line where you could fold the image and have both halves match exactly. A line of symmetry is also know as reflection symmetry.
